How do I get clinical treatment?

Most of our patients are referred by their general physician or orthopedic and neurosurgical specialists.

Patients are kindly requested to call our office daily from 08:00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and 12.00 to 16.00 p.m. on +49 69 475-2020 in order to make an appointment with the Head of Department Prof. Dr. Frank Kandziora MD, PhD.

Who is treated?

All patients with health insurance and self-pay patients.

How long will I have to stay in the hospital?

The duration of hospital stay depends on the severity of the clinical picture, the scope of the surgical measures, the possibilities of the outpatient follow-up care and, of course, of the patient's capacity for recovery.

Is an outpatient surgery performed, too?

Yes. But there are only a few spinal surgical interventions, which can be performed on an outpatient basis, as e.g. peripheral nerve compression syndromes (pressure injuries) and catheter-based pain-treatment (facet-joint denervation).

What will happen after surgery or hospital stay?

The full recovery or a significant relief of symptoms is our objective. Shortly after the intervention, our patients are mobilized under physiotherapeutic guidance. In case that a neurological, trauma surgical or orthopedic post-hospital curative treatment is necessary, we also provide organizational assistance in order to ensure an expeditious follow-up treatment. If possible, we prefer out-patient rehabilitation measures.

In general, the further out-patient treatment is referred to the attending physician or the authorized medical examiner but a check-up during our consultation hours is also possible.
